Our New Building
|
In
spring 2006 we started on the ground works for a new processing
building. This was quite a project and took longer than anticipated as, when surveyed, the fall over the site was found to be nearly one metre.
The
poor Hymac 360
that was in semi retirement was given a new engine and told to get on with
it!! Several hundred tonnes of soil later and we had a flat pad ready to
start pouring concrete, seventy metres of this was poured and we had our
base. After leaving to harden for a few weeks we called |

Fitting out was a long drawn out affair. Besides processing facilities offices for the farm and meat inspectors are necessary as is a staff room and shower facilities.

We have
finally moved into the new building which now also has a new kitchen
facility to make all of our lovely cooked produce in and over all has made all processing much quicker and easier. We have also been able to slowly start increasing our bird numbers and produce free range ducks on a monthly basis. This project is supported under the England Rural Development Programme by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund. |
